Visible Emission Evaluation (VEE) Services

What is Visible Emission Evaluation?

Visible Emission Evaluation (VEE) is the process of visually assessing opacity levels of emissions from stacks or process equipment using EPA Method 9 or Method 22.

Why it Matters for NSPS Subpart OOO

NSPS Subpart OOO applies to nonmetallic mineral processing plants and includes opacity limits for crushers, screens, conveyors, and transfer points. VEE is required to demonstrate compliance with these standards.

Our Field Evaluation Process

Our certified observers conduct Method 9 or Method 22 evaluations at regulated sources, record opacity readings, and generate compliant documentation for submittal to regulatory agencies.

What You Receive

You’ll receive a signed VEE report with field data, observer certification, ambient conditions, and a summary of compliance relative to NSPS OOO standards.

When VEE is Required

VEEs are typically required for initial startup of equipment, performance testing, compliance demonstrations, and periodic checks mandated by permits or NSPS rules.

Why Use a Certified Observer

EPA Method 9 requires observers to hold valid certification. Our staff maintains up-to-date credentials and adheres to strict procedural requirements during field evaluations.

Integration with Compliance Programs

We integrate VEE documentation into your broader air compliance program, including permit support, annual reports, and regulatory agency communications.
